The weeping, Weeping Willow?

At one of the schools where I regularly have the privilege to teach were two Weeping Willow trees. These trees never failed to impress me by both their size and shape, magnificent examples!

However, about a year ago a huge branch fell from one tree overnight. The tree was tidied up, but there must have been a problem because at the beginning of the year it was felled and the second tree heavily pruned, as the photograph shows.

I was again at the school with my camera last week and took a second picture, it appeared like someone had placed pompoms at the end of the branches. I must admit it was good to see new life busting out from the tree.

Life is very resilient, at times we can all feel like we have had our wings clipped or life has been tough on us but the secret is having the faith to carry on!

We can put our faith in our own strength, our intelligence, our determination and often these will help us to overcome all sorts of earth shattering situations. But there is definitely one thing that we cannot deal with ourselves and that is our sin, we cannot by our own will put things right with our maker. To do that we need to have a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, receiving Him as our own personal Saviour! I did that over 40 years ago and it remains the single most significant experience of my life!
