Traffic Policeman
Occasionally I teach at Bubwith school. Last week, passing through the village on my way to the school, I was really impressed to see the attempts of some local people to help calm down the traffic speed.
I saw three separate situations where dummies had been created to look like people, two were policemen and the third the victim of an accident being cared for at the side of the road by a nurse.
From a distance with the illuminated jackets it does look like a policeman ahead and the injured dummy causes you to think seriously about how speed in built up areas is very dangerous. I suspect that the dummies will perish quite quickly with the English weather but in the mean time they are doing a brilliant job. All I can say is well done to the ‘Bubites’ that created them.
