As you may be aware, I am a closet twitcher. I do love to watch the birds in my garden, this started in Liverpool and has continued into our new home. This may be a family quirk, my dad claims to be able to talk to the birds and he feeds them with cheese!
Recently I was very excited to see broken snail shells on the patio, tell tale evidence that there is a Thrush working the garden. It was almost two weeks before I
caught a view of the bird, it gave itself away by the tapping noise, as it smashed another snail shell.
At the weekend my wife noticed a chick and I manged to get a photograph, I was amazed to see how well they where camouflaged against the garden border! The parent and fledgling stayed feeding for some time.
